DHONI...Lucky 7, Leader and Legend

This is a farewell tribute to the all-time great MS Dhoni for his wonderful contribution he has made to Cricket India. Dhoni, Dhoni, Dhoni...

He always led from the front,

If it were a loss, he bore the brunt.

His determination kept the team on the hunt,

As he minced no words and was always upfront.

He would shuffle his field with subtle signs,

Cared more about his team and less about fines.

He played with players of all kinds,

And after a win, he took the sidelines.

At the crease, there were hardly any dots,

Because of his variety of great shots.

He looked around and picked his spots,

And tricked the bowlers with his uncanny thoughts.

He seldom needed the physio nor the doctor,

Fitness never ever seemed a demanding factor.

In times of crisis, he was a real show-stopper,

With his best shot, the helicopter.

On the field he was hard to fool,

He played by the book and knew every rule.

His approach so contemporary and no old-school,

Made him India’s best as ‘Captain Cool’.

He had a leadership style with no unnecessary conflicts,

Backed by great performances which silenced his critics.

He led India to three trophies with a mix,

And winning the World Cup with a mighty six.

He played the game with passion and not for money,

Backed the team with unparalleled harmony.

This set the stage for a great testimony,

Of the true, one and only, 'M S DHONI'.
